Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Knitting Circle make shawls and lap rugs for members of our congregation and community who are in nursing homes, hospital, are shut-in, facing illness, surgery, are terminally ill or grieving. As they make the shawls and lap rugs, they knit their love, prayers and blessings into each stitch. These finished works of compassion are then presented to the recipient along with a moving prayer card.

The Knitting Circle also makes blankets that represent the blessings of the congregation for babies who are baptised at Applewood United Church.
