Here at Applewood United Church, we are proud of our heritage, committed to our journey in faith together, and excited about our future. In the spring of 2014, we voted resoundingly to become an Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Canada. With our empowered ministry team, we continue to live into a challenging vision for our future with the input of all. We stand proudly with the United Church of Canada and continue to search for meaning in our life, and our connection to the Spirit.
In 2003, our three founding churches came together to form the “New” Applewood; Bethesda of Forest Glen, St.Luke’s on-the-Hill and Applewood. Our future will be based on the history of these congregations. Our building is over 50 years old, but we continue to make the renovations and upgrades necessary to honour the past while ministering for the 21st century. In 50+ years we have evolved many traditions to feed our souls and celebrate or mourn together, both for Worship and for Fellowship.
Our governing structure is based on a committee structure with an Executive Board. Many dedicated members of our church are involved in the day to day running of Applewood.
To keep our members informed of the events and activities of the church, we publish The AppleLog every Sunday, a newsletter Out on a Limb four times a year and an Annual report.
