Who can come to church?
Everyone is welcome to attend services. We welcome all abilities, all life-styles and all beliefs. We have people from many traditions or no tradition attending. Lots of times, it is the first time some folks have been in a church.

Newcomers and visitors, please sign our guest book, and complete a request card which can be added to the offering plates.

Is there parking?
There is ample parking in Applewood Village Plaza on the North Service Road between Dixie and Cawthra Roads. From there it is a short walk to the church behind the plaza on the east side. If you park on the west side of the plaza in front of the LCBO, the church provides a little yellow shuttle bus to and from the church on Sunday mornings, except in summer. There is limited parking for disabled and seniors on the church property.

When and how long is the service?
Our Sunday morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. all year round. Our regular service time is about one hour in length.

Upon entering the sanctuary, a greeter will offer you a program/bulletin outlining the hymns, prayers and readings for that day. You may follow along in the hymn book, or on our screen.

Typically, the service begins with announcements followed by greetings. You will be prompted to stand (if able) during hymns and prayers.

Is there a Sunday school?
Yes, we offer Sunday school for pre school children to grade six and Youth group for those in grades 7 and up.

Children will remain with parents for the first part of worship and will join one of the minsters for “Children’s time” and continue to Sunday school for the remainder of service.

After Sunday school, or youth group, you can meet the children in the auditorium.

What about my baby and small child?
We do offer a nursery for babies and small children staffed with adults to care for them while you enjoy service. The nursery is equipped with a change table, crib, and age-appropriate toys. This is a complimentary service.

Also, small children are always welcome in the sanctuary. There is also an enclosed “quiet” room for families who wish to experience service together and be able to control the volume of the service for sleeping babies. Please ask a greeter at the sanctuary doors to direct you to this area.

What is a sermon?
The sermon is the message the minister gives to link our faith, through scripture from the Bible, to our experience of life in our modern world – to make timeless truths relevant to our daily living.

What is an offering?
You are our guest and we do not expect a financial contribution, but if you would like to make a donation you will find a visitor’s envelope in the pews.

With these offerings, the money will support the local church, the church in the community and the wider world. We invite worshippers each Sunday to give an offering, only if they are able and wish to do so. Receipts are provided upon request.

It may seem like some members are not contributing, however some have committed to contributing with direct bank withdrawals.

What kind of music is there?
We have an organ and a grand piano which are used at services. Sometimes we bring in other instruments to enhance the music that morning. We have a formal choir and a variety of musical styles for the services at Applewood with guest musicians throughout the year to provide uplifting music.

Where should I sit?
You may sit anywhere you like and feel most comfortable. There are areas for wheelchairs (beside the “short” pews)

What do I wear?
Whatever is comfortable for you – jeans are welcome.

Do you serve coffee?
After service, please join us for complimentary coffee or tea in the auditorium. Juice is also available.

Is there elevator access?
An elevator is available to access our library, offices and boardroom.

Do you have hearing assistance?
The church has hearing sets available. Please ask a greeter for those requiring this assistance.
