Book discussions, study groups and other educational events are run at various times during the year, which provide insight, thoughtful discussion and fellowship.

Men’s Group
A number of men meet every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 for coffee and conversation. Most, but not all of the group, are retired. The majority are associated with Applewood, but others are not. Attendance is open to everyone. Meetings are informal and unstructured “off the cuff’ discussions, current events, good jokes, etc. When one considers 40 men, with many years of work and travel exposure, there is a wealth of interesting experiences to explore. As we get to know one another better, we care and we act by helping each other. In doing so, we satisfy a basic need of all of us – to have friends, to be needed, to have dignity and worth.

Ladies’ Fellowship Group

The Ladies meet the third Tuesday of each month from September to May at 1:30 to hear a speaker, share a potluck lunch and enjoy other social activities. This is not a fundraising group, but it does support various charities through the Outreach Committee. It is a group that meets for fellowship and friendship, and all women are invited to attend.
